I was born and raised in the Windy City, Chicago and moved to Israel in the early 80’s to study engineering at the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology). I served as a combat soldier in a special forces’ unit of the Israeli Air Force and am a certified and practicing life coach. I have worked in education, business development and marketing for over 35 years holding senior C-suite positions and directorships. I have managed multi-million-dollar accounts in developing export markets for Israeli industry and high-tech.
Over the course of my career, I witnessed many different management styles. Modern workplaces are full of managers but short of leaders. Social media is full of personal and leadership development content, but like all other skills, leadership cannot be learned theoretically. Leadership is learned through guidance and feedback. The methodologies I devise to develop leaders are based on the concept of experiential education.
To better understand the methodologies I employ to accomplish these objectives, please read on.
Leadership is a skill that must be developed through practice and use. One cannot become a carpenter without working with wood. One can also choose not to be a carpenter.
Skills are learned and then practiced; theory and experience. Without experience and practice, a skill cannot be acquired; theory is not enough.
The methodologies I employ contain both parts, theory and practice. They are accomplished through exercises and activities that enable the participants to exercise what they learned theoretically. Often, they are fun, exciting and challenging. The participants practice what they learn, gaining experience and feedback creating an ongoing growth process for them.
Together with the client, I gather information about the participants, their organization, the expected goals of the participants and we align expectations. We agree on an effective timeline and budget as well as the preferred locale for the experience. I then can provide a detailed program for comment and approval.
The programs I devise are creative, fun and diverse. They range from role-playing games, outdoor training (ODT), adventure trips and other activities. The activities are specifically designed to remove participants from their comfort zones and train them in the specific leadership skill sets they need to develop through practical experiences.
An ideal experience results in participants developing the desired skill sets without knowing it was happening.
I am more than willing to travel to provide my services. That said, I can only travel to countries that have diplomatic relations with the State of Israel.

My leadership development programs are divided into two age groups, adults and youth (12-18 years old). My experience has shown that leadership skills should be developed as early as possible. However, in most cases, abstract topics like leadership are best learned after the age of 12.
I place a large emphasis on developing an individual’s emotional intelligence (EQ).
Emotional intelligence (otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence helps you build stronger relationships, succeed at school and work, and achieve your career and personal goals. It can also help you to connect with your feelings, turn intention into action, and make informed decisions about what matters most to you.
High EQ in a person is a prerequisite to becoming a good leader and why I firmly believe in its importance.
